TEMPERATURES

November Mean Temperatures were almost exactly Normal, with Maximums running a bit above normal and Minimums a little below Normal. The first 2/3 of the month had fairly steady Maximum and Minimum Temperatures in the 50s/40s, declining through the remainder of the month. The month’s Average Max/Min/Mean Temps were thus: 1st-20th – 55.6°/44.6°/50.1°; 21st-30th – 45.9°/35.5°/40.7°. As happened in October 2019, the coldest Minimum Temperature waited to occur on the final day of this month, reaching 29.8°, one of two days to reach <32° and was the coldest reading since 27.6° back on March 5, 2019. The chilliest Maximum Temperature was the 39.9° on the 26th. Three days of Maximum Temperatures barely managed to reach the 60-degree mark during the month while 9 days remained ≤50°, 5 of which were ≤45°. Minimum Temperatures all remained ≤50°, with 10 at ≤40°, and 5 at ≤35°.

PRECIPITATION

The dryness of October 2019 continued into November; the first 8 days of this month had no measurable rain, with no large amounts through the rest of the month. The monthly total of 1.73″ was only 21.8% of the Normal of 7.92″ for this location, the wettest month of the year, on average. The daily maximum amount was only 0.47″ on the 19th, with just 11 days having measurable precipitation, 3 days with ≥0.25″. The maximum 24-hour amount was 0.57″ on 18th-19th. The first snow of the season dusted us on the 30th with 0.1″ falling just an hour prior to month’s end, continuing lightly into the 1st of December.

MISCELLANEOUS

The Barometric Pressure didn’t fall below 30.00″ until the 13th & 14th (and just barely at 29.99″ during both days), finally falling lower on the 18th-19th. The most impressive barometric pressure readings came on Nov. 26th-27th as a very intense Low Pressure system/*Bomb Cyclone (moving in a nearly southeast direction!) came ashore near the Oregon/California border. In less than 24 hours the barometer here fell from 30.187 inches (1022.25 mb) at 1927 Hrs on 11/25 to 29.324 inches (993.02 mb) at 1900 Hrs on 11/26, a change of 0.863 inches (29.225 mb).

Sky Cover: November brought 11 Clear, 7 Partly Cloudy, and 12 Cloudy days.

Barometric Pressure ranged from 30.48″ (1st, 23rd) to 29.31″ (26th).

Relative Humidity peaked at 99% (25th+), and reached a Minimum of 29% (1st).

Dew Point went from 55° (15th, 16, 18th) to 21° (1st, 29th, 30th).
