TEMPERATURES September 2022 was record-warm in the Portland area; the three official Portland weather stations had Mean Temperature Departures ranging from +2.9° to +4.1°. Here in Happy Valley, the Average Maximum/Minimum/Mean Temperatures were 75.9°/55.6°/65.8°. The warmest period was, as usual, during the beginning of the month but Max. The year 2022 continued the trend of warm months of July in the Portland area.  Five of the Top-10 Warmest Julys have occurred since 2014 and eight of the Top-10 since 2003. FINAL UPDATE ON 7/3/2022 AT 7:20 AM: The Portland Airport (PDX) established its wettest period covering the three months of April, May, and June.  PDX measured 12.60″, surpassing the previous record of 11.87″ set in 2010.  The 2022 monthly amounts were: April 5.73″, May 3.78″, June 3.09″. TEMPERATURES April 2022 was quite a chilly one as nearly every day this month averaged below Normal. In fact, only a day or two averaged more than a +1° departure from Normal.  The warmest day, oddly, occurred early in the month with a Max/Min/Mean on the 7th of 73.5°/50.6°/62.1°, and no other day even came close (the second-warmest was on the 24th with 70.5°/41.2°/55.9°). Downtown Portland, Oregon Sets #2 Wettest September Day

On 9/27/2021, the official Downtown Portland weather station recorded a record daily rainfall total of 1.79″. This amount was also the second highest September calendar-day total dating back to 1872, a period of 150 years! This amount is second only to the 2.41″ that fell on 9/17/1969.
