With a minimum temperature of 59° this morning at the Portland Airport (PDX), Portland’s third-longest streak with minimum temperatures of ≥60° came to an end at 17 consecutive days. UPDATE: 8/21/2018 At the 2:00 P.M. PDT observation, the Portland Airport had reached 91°, tying the all-time record for Number of Days ≥90° in a calendar year at 29 days (also in 2015). It would’ve occurred yesterday but the wildfire smoke was so thick (visibility was down to 3 to 6 miles on the hourly observations through the daylight hours) that it held temperatures well-below the predicted highs (83° maximum vs predicted 90° or so).
