TEMPERATURES May 2019 averaged several degrees above normal, mostly due to much-above-normal temperatures through the first 13 days; all but two days were in the 70s and 80s during this period. In contrast, 13 days remained ≤70° from the 14th-31st. On March 14th, the maximum temperature here in Happy Valley reached 61.2° under full sunshine, the first reading ≥60° since Nov. 4, 2018 – that is 130 days in between readings of that value. It was also the warmest temperature since 61.5° on Nov. 2, 2018. Daily Maxima ranged only 15.0° during January, Daily Minima 14.9° as the monthly Mean Temperature ranged only 9.2°. From the 10th-24th, skies were clear nearly every day, allowing for maximum sunshine as the mean maximum temperatures averaged 66.7°, even warmer when counting the shorter period 15th-18th when it averaged 72.1°.
