FINAL UPDATE ON 7/3/2022 AT 7:20 AM:

The Portland Airport (PDX) established its wettest period covering the three months of April, May, and June.  PDX measured 12.60″, surpassing the previous record of 11.87″ set in 2010.  The 2022 monthly amounts were: April 5.73″, May 3.78″, June 3.09″. The 1991-2020 average for this 3-month period is 7.03″ so PDX ended up with 178.2% of that average. The Portland Airport’s official climate archive for precipitation began in October 1940.

For the longer-term Downtown Portland precipitation archive, which goes back to January 1871 (and located at KGW-TV since 1973), this April-May-June period saw 14.20″ (April 6.22″, May 4.69”, and June 3.29″), which is also now ranked #1 wettest, surpassing the 13.41″ that fell in 2010.  The 1991-2020 average for this 3-month period is 7.70″ so Downtown received 184.4% of that average.

For the shorter-term official station at the Portland Weather Service Forecast Office (WFO), located in the Parkrose neighborhood in northeast Portland, with a precipitation archive beginning in April 1996, the April-May-June total was 14.03” (April 5.81”, May 4.37”, and June 3.85”), giving them a departure of 167.4% from the Normal of 8.38”. The 14.03” total surpassed the previous record of 13.24” in 2010.

The Portland-Vancouver Metro finally entered an extended dry period to close out the month of June, with no rain from the 20th through the 30th.
