TEMPERATURES
Though July 2020 averaged just a bit above Normal, the month began quite cool with a Maximum of only 63.1° on the 1st, even without the normally suppressive benefit of clouds and rain. The Average Maximum covering the 1st-9th was 71.6° as not a single day reached above 77°. The 80° threshold was finally breached on the 10th and 80s were a regular occurrence thereafter. The first 90° reading came on the 20th (91.0°), with a monthly total of 5 days ≥90°, peaking at 96.0° on the 27th, providing a July daily Maximum range of 32.1°. On the cool side, 4 days remained ≤70°, 3 of these days coming early in the month, the final day waiting until the 24th (67.1°) during a very brief cool down as it went over 80° again the following day. The monthly Average Maximum remained below 80° through the 30th but just surpassed it to end at 80.1° due to the heat over the month’s final 6 days, averaging 91.0° during this period.
As usual, Minimum Temperatures didn’t range as much as the Maximum Temperatures, the month’s highest Minimum of 65.1° occurring on the 27th, one of just 4 days to remain >60°. The month’s Minimum fell to 49.9° on both the 13th & 25th, these two extremes providing a July daily Minimum range of just 15.2°. The Maximum Diurnal Range was 38.9° on the 26th (94.0°/55.1°) and the Minimum was the 8.9° on the 1st (63.1°/54.2°). The Average Monthly Minimum was a very comfortable 55.8° with 16 days in the month reaching ≤55°. Splitting the month in two, the Max/Min/Mean Temperatures were thus: 1st-14th – 74.6°/53.5°/64.1°, 15th-31st – 84.7°/57.6°/71.2°. Max. Heat Index was reached on the 27th when it soared to an uncomfortable 101.6° with the air temperature at 95.5° and relative humidity at 41%.

PRECIPITATION
In a turnaround from the unusually wet months of May and June, July finally returned to what’s more expected for this time of year. The only measurable rain to fall was the small total of 0.05″ scattered over three short periods on the 7th, with just Trace amounts of the 6th & 9th of the month.

Sky Cover: 12 Clear, 17 Partly Cloudy, and 2 Cloudy days.
Barometric Pressure ranged from a maximum of 30.21″ (4th) to a minimum of 29.77″ (27th).
Relative Humidity peaked at 98% (3rd, 14th, & 26th) and reached a Minimum of 23% (26th).
Dew Point went from a very sticky maximum of 71° (1st, 6th, & 7th) to a minimum of 43° (13th).
Wind averaged just 0.1 MPH and the Maximum Gust reached just 8 MPH (11th, 15th, & 26th).
