TEMPERATURES
Overall, June 2020 averaged slightly above normal, with Maximum Temperatures very close to normal but Minimums about a degree or so above normal. The first half of the month was very wet, which especially suppressed Maximum Temperatures. For the 11-day period from the 6th-16th, 9 of these days remained ≤70°. Monthly Maximums ranged from a low of only 56.0° on the 13th to 90.0° on the 23rd (a range of 34.0°), the latter value being the only daily reading to reach ≥90°; there was a total of only 7 days hitting ≥80° the entire month.
Minimum Temperatures ranged only 15.9° during the month, from a low of 44.4° on the 1st to a high of 60.3° on the 24th. There were 10 daily readings dropping to ≤50° and 20 of ≤55°. Splitting the month in two, the Max/Min/Mean Temperatures were thus: 1st-16th – 67.1°/50.7°/58.9°; 17th-30th – 77.7°/55.1°/66.4°. The largest diurnal range was 35.2° on the 22nd (86.5°/51.3°), the smallest was on the very wet 13th with just 5.1° (56.0°/50.9°).

Though it was mainly dry through the first several days, it suddenly turned very wet with measurable rain then falling for 12 consecutive days (6th-13th), totaling 3.66″ during this time, far exceeding the average monthly total of 2.27″ for this location. The remainder of the month became more June-like as just three more days recorded measurable rain, totaling only 0.39″, leading to a monthly sum of 4.06″, 179% of the normal. All-in-all, there were 16 days with measurable precipitation, with 8 of these exceeding 0.25″. The maximum amount in 24-hours was 0.75″ on 13th and the Maximum Rain Rate for the month was 6.26″/Hr on the 5th when an intense 5-minute rainfall of 0.29″ occurred (and 2-minute amount of 0.15″ during this same time period).
