PRECIPITATION
December 2019 seemed to be continuing the unusually dry conditions of October and November as the 2nd-5th of this month saw no measurable rain (after a bit of the season’s first snowfall Nov. 30-Dec. 1, amounting to 0.1″ on each of those days). However, more consistent precipitation subsequently began. All-in-all, 21 days of measurable precipitation occurred but there were no major daily amounts as no single day even reached 1.00″, the maximum amount being 0.88″ on the 21st. Two rounds of small hail fell on the 12th. Though closer-to-average precipitation did fall, the 5.54″ was still just 72% of the Normal November amount of 7.72″ for this location. 2019 ended up being the driest year since at least 2014 when this location’s weather records began, the total for the calendar year being 40.05″.
