On 9/27/2021, the official Downtown Portland weather station recorded a record daily rainfall total of 1.79″. This amount was also the second highest September calendar-day total dating back to 1872, a period of 150 years! This amount is second only to the 2.41″ that fell on 9/17/1969.

The nearby Portland International Airport (PDX) only recorded 0.87″, which did not even set a daily record, with a period of record back to 1940.

The Portland Weather Forecast Office, with data records only back to 1996, had a record-daily total of 1.23″, which ranked #5 all-time for September at that location, this after totaling 1.26″ just the prior week on 9/18/2021, ranking #3 all-time.
